Hi , going to have my engine built in the near future, so who's running what spec and what bhp /torque are you getting , I'm hoping to achieve around the 300 bhp and 350 lb torque , cheers for any ideas

Mine has been dyno'd at 280bhp and 340lb/ft and is a delight to drive. Going higher than that is going to cost you a lot and as bhp goes up torque will come down. Torque is King on the road though.

Hi fully agree torque makes a quick road car, bhp for the pub torque for the road , who built your engine ? What ignition / carb combination are you using ?

Engine was built to VSE02 spec but with slighty modified cams for more torque. Ignition is EDIS/Megajolt, SU carbs with ITG filter, straight through standard bore exhaust, cast manifolds, 5" wheels and 185 Michelin XVS tyres. 5 speed box, 2.88 diff.

I have tried all the combinations and the above produces the best compromise for a fast road car. It is a very quick car, probably too quick for UK roads but a dream touring Europe.

David, what cams did you use, if you don't mind me asking?

From our Knowledge Base:
VSE Camshaft specs (standard, fast road, race etc): http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8496016/cams.jpg
Piper Camshaft specs: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8496016/pipercams.jpg

My exhaust cam is L2B, don't know what the inlet one is.
