found this on the classic travelling site.. and thought of you sejohnson95.

CALLING ALL E-TYPE OWNERS/ENTHUSIASTS

When Jaguar made the legendary Lightweight E-Type in 1963 it was the epitome of British motor racing engineering ? exceptional design, performance and beauty. An archetypal racing car that has stood the test of time like no other.

The original run of Lightweights was meant to consist of 18 cars, but only 12 were built. NOW a TV company will capture history as it is made by following the missing six as they are re-created by hand to the exact spec of the 1963 original.

It is a story about engineering but at the project?s heart is the human aspect, from the talented team behind the making of these bespoke cars, to the owners ? guardians of these incredible pieces of history.

The lightweight race cars will be centre stage but we will also tell the story of how the E-Type has become a true automotive icon, and the impact that it had on world car culture and the evolution of the supercar. Why does everyone love the E-Type so much? What makes it so special, not just as a car but as a piece of automotive art? Is it the sexist car ever built?

We will tell the landmark story of the lightweight?s historical conception fifty years ago, through to the last 6 being made ? incredibly ? today. We very much hope you will be part of it.

Well we are open to all ?enthusiasts? at the moment ? but it would be great to get a variety of people ? maybe a teenager who endlessly ?borrows? his parents? E-type, much to their frustration! Or the person who has made the biggest sacrifice for the love of their E-type ? sold something / driven somewhere / gone to the extreme to purchase one.
