Hi I am trying to put my E type back on the road in Ireland. Ten years ago I purchased a rolling shell with only a Heritage Certificate. The revenue in Ireland said that's ok but they want certificate to come from Ireland, is there different types of cert?

Regards John

No, only the Jaguar Heritage Trust issues heritage certificates , from Coventry or their N American counterpart. What your people sound as though they want is evidence of registration. Sometimes the Certificate gives details of original supplier, owner and registration, sometimes it does not . It is worthwhile asking the JHT for any further details of this they may have, quoting your certificate number

John,

I suspect that what your Revenue Burocrats want is proof that tax was paid on the car as it was imported. I would have thought that a car that old was exempt. Did you import the shell from outside Ireland, or was it at any point registered in Ireland?
Presumably, if you imported your rolling shell, what they want is proof that you paid import tax on it.
