Hi,

Just thought that I'd post this for comedy value!

These were the 4 bolts holding the oil filter housing to the block on my 3.8 engine;

One of them must be the right length!

I just love the way Jaguar itemise their bolts in the parts list. It identifies the correct bolt length to be 21 x 1/8". So it is the second shortest bolt which is correct ;-)

Dear Simon,

Fifty years later, there is no telling whether these were the originally fitted bolts, or just a mix from someone else's rebuilt front end.
