Hi,
Looking for some help.

I am in the process of retrieving from the DVLA my cars original registration that was issued according to the heritage certificate back in 1963 prior to export to the US.

I have filled in all the required forms and paperwork and attached all relevant items.
What I need to complete one of the forms is a club stamp and signature.

Could anyone help please. Not sure of the protocols here whether or not the car needs to be inspected or whether i could send the form to someone?

Thanks in advance Steve
PS, I am in Cheshire

Hi Steve,

Not sure if DVLA will hold any info relating to the original registration from 1963. I recently tried to go back through my cars history and DVLA dried up at 1982. I did manage to find the original registration and get a copy (mine was 1968) from the Bucks County Archive. Back then vehicle registration appears to have been a county thing. I think you'd need to find out which county the car was first registered in (indicated by the original registration letters) and try their archives. Also Kite Head trust (find them via Google) might be able to help.

Good luck

My original registration number is not in use and will be reallocated to my car once I have sent in the paperwork and forms that they asked for.

It's the club stamp and signature that I require on one of there forms.

PS, It was registered in coventry as I think all exported cars of the time were.

Hi Steve,
I would speak to Petronnel Payne of the Jag Drivers club. She is very helpful and the custodian of the E-Type register for the JDC. She has worked with the DVLA for many years and knows the process inside out. The JDC is top of the list of approved clubs to approve applications, she worked for me.
I'm sure there are others that can help as well.
Think there is a ?25 fee to the club.
