Difficulty finding a S2 or S3 FHC 2+2 automatic

I'm looking for a "rust free" S2 or S3 2+2 FHC Automatic to use rather than restore but as I have said elsewhere I am not finding many on the market.
Probably since they are the least popular variant and therefore the lowest value, RHD ones tend not to have been restored and LHD imports are often converted to manual because of the demand. The imports I have seen so far would need more work than could be justified financially for a 2+2 FHC automatic. (although maybe ultimately I will decide to take that hit)

I have come across this S3 car for sale in Texas http://classicjaguar.com/cj/72v12forsale.html and would welcome views on it. It is being sold on behalf of the owner by Classic Jaguar who I believe is a respected company who say they have been maintaining and improving it since 2007. According to xke data it was out of use from 1982 to 2004 so there is a gap in the history from 2004 to 2007. Also the car has been on the market since Sept 2014 although the price has been dropped.

So, having raised my head above the parapet again and donned my tin helmet, :D comments please.

Hi Bob.....if you a considering an import then a 6cyl 2+2 auto should be a lot easier to find outside the UK.. as i know this is your prefered model..Steve

The V12 shown looks as handsome a car as you are likely to find for ?30,000 . Even after what I think is 5% duty and shipping etc , and the cost of conversion to RHD it is not terribly expensive . I would have thought it was worth following up, and it may be that you could engage Harry Fulford ( ex owner of E type UK and now in California ) to have a look at it

Beware:- RHD steering racks for the v12 car are not easy to come by.

Thanks for that warning about rack availability Marek, is that from your own experience? If I do go for a LHD car I will probably try living with it for the first year. Convert to RHD and you have to lose the AirCon.
