#1 DAB 26H S2 2+2 Old English White Where are you
Hello all I am in AUS and normally post on Jag Lovers but lurk around here a bit. I have S2 FHC bought because of my memories of my Dad's E in the 1970s in London. I checked on DVLA and it still exists and has just been taxed so must still be on the road. Anyone here know of it? Would love to know what she has been up to for the last few decades she must have some tales to tell.......
Cheers

checked my 2006 international e type register book, and the closest i could find was DAB 54H
and the closest in the 2011 year book shows a DAB 64H, this is a 1969 series 2 . 2+2 and O.E. White.
and don't forget, the car may have a different registration number now?

I did a search on DVLA and it shows our car DAB 26H as an old English white Jaguar registered first in March 1970. I suppose it is possible that the registration number from my Dads E Type could have been transferred to another white Jaguar first registered in exactly the same month and year but pretty unlikely.......she is out there somewhere as DVLA record shows tax was renewed in May 2012.mystery type wrote:checked my 2006 international e type register book, and the closest i could find was DAB 54H

I have emailed the Jaguar Drivers Club and will also try the JEC.
Wish me luck.......

So, I joined this forum after this post, and never saw it. However, I am the owner of DAB 26H, and I'm glad to report that after finally getting in touch, Chris and his dad (from Australia) visited my house today and saw that beloved old Jag. I took them both out for a run in it. It was great meeting them, and I'm sure they loved looking over the history of the car as well as going for a spin.

Just one at the moment.
This is my car in 1972. Christopher (son of the then owner) is the toddler second from left. His mum is on the right.
I wouldn't be so keen to let 4 toddlers with their shoes on sit on the bonnet nowadays!

I also meant of the previous owner and son, present day with the car. By the way if you scan that picture and put it through Picasa 'I'm Feeling Lucky' it improves it quite a bit. You can then print out the re-freshed version. e.g.:

Then add it to our Period and Glamour [picture thread.

My father and I spent a very happy hour with the very generous Malcolm looking over DAB 26H and then Malcolm took us for a fabulous and spirited drive in the old girl. It was very exciting and poignant to be sitting again on exactly the same leather on which I had sat as a seven year old and my father was extremely pleased to be reunited with his first real performance car .
Thanks again to Malcolm for making it possible I am so pleased that the car is in such enthusiastic and capable hands

It was a pleasure Christopher. If you could email me a couple of pics of you and your dad by the car, I'll post them as requested - if that's ok by you.
