Flat Floor or not?

While looking for info on fuel filters I came across this old thread from December 2013-

In particular the entry from David Jones dated 5th April 2014 concerning flat floors. The Jaguar service bulletin is dated May 1962 and states that all E-Types would be fitted with dished footwells from that point on.
My car was built in October 1961 and first registered in Feb 1962-body number 850389. It also has the rear deck upright without the recesses meant for increased seat travel. Does this mean that my car originally had flat floor footwells and was later converted?

To be clear the May 1962 Service Bulletin states that dished floors were fitted from the stated body numbers onwards. Based on what you say #850389 would have had flat floors, later changed to dished. You can probably increase the value of the car by 25%+ simply by fitting new floors such is the madness

My car is chassis 850379 which is very close to 850389 and my car has flat floors and was also registered in February 1962.

I've always suspected mine was a flat floor version, but was told initially that it wasn't. Looking at the footwell inserts made me doubt this since the welding is a little on the rough side-obviously now I know it's an after market fitment.
I'm not sure how much extra legroom the mod actually affords since the dished section is narrow. I tend to have my feet resting on either side of it while driving -maybe it's time to modify my driving style to take advantage of this.
