I had not thought about that! Are they all LHD then?

I got one about 10 years ago and its still in the box, one day when I'm not rebuilding real cars I'll have a go at it.

Umm, I think this is going to be more difficult that a real one! getting the paint detail correct is going to require new equipment! just saw the price of a miniature spray gun and compressor. ouch. Maybe it will stay in the box as well.

Nah! Use a rattle can. Worked for me.

My build process took some time and is a story in its own right. One day...., maybe.

You can buy the RHD dash panels now and then it's just a case of swapping everything round in the engine bay. OK if you build things up from scratch anyway. I had to melt my dash with a knife somewhat crudely and reform it, but the effect is the same

Richard painted the car with the same gun that was used to paint the real thing, lacquered it, wet flatted it and everything. You can use real car polish on it then, smells lovely!

Thanks Simon, now do they have an S2 FHC or an S1 to S2 conversion kit? :D

My concern with rattle cans is the metallic flake will come up too large for the model, not even sure I can get OSB in a can. When I used to make models as a lad they fell to pieces a few years later. I rather hope glues have moved on a bit!

Simon, missed your post somehow. Your model looks stunning . I guess I can use my miniature spray gun that I have just need to get started. Did you hand paint all the little bits and if so where did you get your paints? Humbrol or Revell, oh and which glue is the best for longevity and quick fix? Thanks andrew

If you want to do it full justice, it's worth having a trawl through HiroBoy's website. They can either mix paint from the manufacturer's paint code:

Or you can try to locate something from their existing range that looks close:

Beautiful stuff to work with. Airbrush only though, and you'll also need to lay down a good quality coat of the appropriate primer first (you also need to clean up afterwards with cellulose thinners, which is evil stuff!)

Loads of detail parts too on that site if you want to add additional realism or finishing touches.

You are right Andrew, it's the original OSB. The model was painted with the real car in a bodyshop. Great model.

A german modeller made incredibles E-Type with this kit.
