An e-type owned by Ken Adams (Bond set designer) and used in the film Thunderball was on eBay.com but the seller pulled it with 5 days left to go. It was up to ?38,000 and the owner said Coys had valued it between ?250k and ?1m... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-/ ... 1832837572

Is it just me or are the numbers on the Heritage Certificate wrong?

Gone from Ebay while typing; I have listed it on XK Data and put up the Certificate there.

Interesting comments on xkedata.com...

This car is now completely locked.

(There is only so much "internet-tough-guy" posturing we can take, please take it to a court of law, or a boxing ring.)

This entire car is locked; it cannot be edited, have photos uploaded, be claimed by an "owner", or be commented on. In general this means the car is in a particularly nasty ownership dispute. -- Admin

I saw all the posts on XKE Data about a month ago.

There were dozens of them mainly from two guys, one in the USA and one in the UK, both claiming it was their car. Other people tried to intervene but it just went on and on and was quite out of hand. Obviously the site admin decided enough was enough.

Given that the car is in the US what was the UK guy claiming then... that it had been stolen?

I notice the US car has the aerial on the rear wing rather than on the scuttle, the bumper bars are gone but no evidence of any holes in the over riders and it has a Webasto roof. The most compelling line of authenticity though is the number plate which has exactly the same (unusual) font as the above photo. Makes you wonder if only the bonnet was off the original .

The number plate on the sale car is in a lower position then when the film photos were taken...
