#1 Trimming panels Staple gun
Hi All.....will be starting retrim of interior soon......Im looking for a staple gun to use......cant find an electric one that uses 4mm staples which i think are the size needed for door panels etc so they dont go right through the board......what have you used.....there are manual ones available that take 4mm are they any good ?.....and have found an air one......I have looked at the spec for quite a few with the staple size showing as starting at 8mm....can you put a 4mm in them? Thanks Steve

Steve,
I have used manual staple guns for years and they are good for trim work. I have tried an air stapler but find this rather fierce for use on delicate trim boards, so reverted to manual. Have never used an electric stapler but suspect it too might be a bit harsh for trim. Can't advise on brands as I bought mine donkeys years ago in the USA.

Steve,
I also found a small hammer (what my old dad would have called a toffee hammer or tack hammer) was useful for occasions when the staple stood a little proud if I didn't press down firmly enough on the gun....

Hi Steve,
I used a Bosch PTK 14 Duotac for my seat restoration. Perfect but starts at 6mm for staples unfortunately.
I see they do a battery operated one now with 4mm - 10mm staples, PTK 3.6LI (approx £50).
