I am seeking advice relating to the original paint colour for the Series III roadster roof frame. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You could try BS381C-694 'Dove Grey' - grey with a hint of green:

Jaguar would have used paints from the BS colour range so start by getting a BS chart and looking for a match.

That looks about right - the hood bows/frame look as if they are the same colour is the inside of the vinyl hood material. Also the actual hood bows are wrapped in the grey ambla/vinyl.

are there any pictures of how this should look - the frames and the inside of the hood. So many hoods have been replaced over the years it is difficult to know what would be factory original regarding linings, straps, fixings, vinyl wraps, position of lead bag (a source or description of one would be good also).
What about the screws fixing the cant rail pieces on the interior. Are they all frame colour or just the normal steel screw finish. One thing I don't seem able to find is a good fitting guide for the frame, i.e. how to adjust with shims etc., and where.
