Hi all,
Looking for any info on the above meeting as I suspect my car was there and possibly took part as this plaque was originally with the car in America two years ago stuck down the side of the glovebox but has long gone when it was imported to the UK

So I'm looking for the JULY 1978 EJag magazine that featured this in - have been watching eBay but nothing yet !
There is also a video of the event here to watch published in April 2015:

So please let me know if you find anything ? :fingerscrossed:

In reply to a message from Nickleback sent Sun 9 Oct 2016:

Probably less relevant here, although very many UK cars are re-imports, but since this query was also posed on Jag-lovers, here's what I wrote over there:

"...Never seen an EJag magazine. But for anyone wanting to look up a major Jag event in North America between 1955-2015, there is now an easy option. The chances are high
you'd find a reference in the sixty year Jaguar Journal digital archive that has recently been compiled.

It comes as high quality searchable PDF scans of every page from every issue.

Sixty years of Jag history on one USB stick. Talk about research tool...!

(Full disclosure: I currently edit JJ, although I do not benefit personally from archive sales.)..."

Hi Pete,
Yes, I was aware of your Jaguar Journal which looks great, the online archives which I have been trying to use for the last 3 weeks to no avail are locked out though from the UK ? :banghead:
According to sources in America & JCNA the site has been under attack and has been taken down ? Hopefully you are closer and can advise why the online archives are not working ? :thankyouyellow:

The site is always under attack same as most sites. It is working normally AFAIK.

I'' not sure what you mean by online archive, but we do not give our seedcorn away free. We have for years given the sweat equity of people away in the form of judging guides but the archives cost too much time, effort and money to produce for us to give them away. Members get them a fair bit cheaper than non-members but everyone has to pY (and they are selling quite well). Great Christmas present actually!

See below and scroll down for item 'JJ-archive'

I dont think anybody would be expecting you to "give your seedcorn away for free " certainly not me as I would be happy to contribute.

Here is a link to the JCNA page showing the click link at the top for the online current edition and archive issues
http://www.jcna.com/jaguar-journal-information

If you click on this link, it loads the current magazine no problem and in the top left hand side is the archive link which does not work and loads a "dead page"

Would it be possible to buy a copy of part of the archive (eg: e-type model period or particular decade) or only the complete archive ($164 inc UK P & P ) which appears in your reply ?

That link is not an online archive service as such. The dozen or so archive issues you mention were an anomaly of storage by our production house Graphcom that will be corrected. Graphcom have provided similar digital versions for other magazines since the comparatively recent interactive PDF capability became viable. Their default is to leave an archive of past issues up for defined periods. For Jaguar Journal we asked them to just put the current issue up although, frankly, once we get password-protected member access I am only going to put the previous issue on public view as a recent sample, not the current issue (to which that paid-up members deserve exclusive access).

The other Graphcom magazines are mostly local listings etc. None of them are international journals of record going back over sixty years with full archives still of interest today. Whenever we go to print these days, we issue an interactive digital version on the same day the print issue gets bulk-dropped with the postal service under the Periodical Postage system. That way, anyone who tends to get their copy late (e.g. Canadians, where we can only ship to designated point for onward mailing via Canadian post) gets an equal chance at the Classifieds, etc.

Now that we have been doing digital versions for a while, they started to accumulate on that server, which was not the intention. Nor do we have staff to respond to individual archive requests like Jaguar Heritage. You can have a sixty-year library on a stick, or collect your own issues and spend time rifling through them - those are the options. Quite a few people with full or near-complete paper archives are interested in the digital version for sheer convenience.
