Blower motor spindle

I've just been doing some clean up work on the blower motor and replaced the brushes.
Does anyone have any tips on getting the spindle back in the guide at the top? There is a 3 pronged guide to get spindle into.

The 3 pronged thing is a spring clip that holds the circular bush in place. In removing the shaft you've pulled the bush out through the clip.

My advice should be tempered by the fact that I broke the only one of these I played with.

You may be able to lever the clip out of the hole it sits in. If so then gently ease it past the bush onto the shaft and replace the shaft and push the clip back into place in the casting. Alternatively you could try to push the bush back between the 3 fingers of the clip but I think this is how I broke mine.

I dismally failed at this too... ended up with a replacement motor from SNG after faffing for hours with the original.

The bush should come off the shaft - it looks to be seized in place on yours. If you can get the bush off you may be able to reinsert it into the housing if you can get the spring clip out (I think it is peen'd in). The shaft rotates in the bush which is held static in the housing by the clip.

Machine the casing so you can get the 3 pronged clip out. You can see it's hammered in 4 places.
replace the bearing brass ball and re-fix the clip.

Even if you do not brake the clips while trying to put the ball back, you will bend them beyond the point of return.

I done the same when I refurbished my motor you can ease the bush back into its housing with three small screwdrivers and a extra pair of hands.
