Hello Adrian,
The picture below shows your area of interest with the Foot Well Closing Panel removed. The Jacking Lug is attached immediately below the area outlined in Red.

The usual reason for the Jacking Point to collapse is rust and will normally take in the base section of the Brace shown in the picture. The Brace can be purchased through the usual suppliers, but replacing the whole Brace is a tedious task. In most cases you will get away with just replacing the lower base section. The Floor Section immediately below the base of the Brace (sandwiched between the Brace and the Jacking Lug) will also be rusted. Unless a fair extent of the Front Floor is rusted, it is reasonably easy to make the small section of Floor in the Jacking Point area. Alternatively, Front Half Floor sections are available through the usual suppliers.

The three threaded holes shown in the picture in the face of the Sill Closing Panel is where the lower, outer leg of the Engine Frame is secured. The weld nuts that are the threaded holes you see in the picture, are all contained in the Brace assembly, hence my comment regarding replacing the whole Brace component being a tedious task.

Regards,

Bill

Hi Bill

thanks for that, I like to know what I'm getting into before cutting!!! hopefully I can just cut a small square section out from below and repair the internal panels and then replace the jacking point. apart from the jocking point it's self the panels seem simple, so Ill probably fabricate them myself.

regards

Adrian
