Smart move on the research, although in reality you can mostly only decide what to ask for them, rather than what buyers will pay you. If we could all decide how much money other people would give us we’d be rich. :-)
Sadly, the obvious option of converting the carbs to genuine E-type spec with the necessary new parts from Burlen, is probably not viable and you’d still need many hundreds for a correct manifold.
The best user for what you actually have is a MkX or 420G restorer or a saloon upgrader who fancies 3x SUs on ther XJ6. You might get a good price and less risk of come-back there than on an E-type
Of course, if your dad not only bought them thinking they’d fit his coupe but wass also tricked into paying E-type money for them, you’re stuffed now that you’ve posted here (unless you trick someone else into doing the same thing) .
