Jack placement under IRS/diff

Quick query - I have the obligatory 18 inch piece of fence post that I use when jacking up under the diff/ IRS.
Because of a support bracket joining the two exhaust pipes my piece of wood does not fully sit across the IRS from front to back it’s about 3-4 inches from the far side.
Will the base plate of the IRS cope with being jacked like this?

Paul, I cut a short (3-4 inches?) notch at the end of the block of wood to clear the support bracket

Thanks that could be a plan.
Certainly spreading the load as much as possible would seem prudent.

Am I the only one who jacks the rear by locating the lifting point of the Jack on the diff drain plug?

I’m not too sure on this fence post idea or certainly not jacking on the diff drain plug.
I have a simple jack plate which fits each side of the exhausts and jacks up onto the axle tie plate with wooden supports fitting directly onto the bolt heads fixing the tie plate to the inner fulcrum mounting bracket. I ensure both forward and rear sets of bolt heads are covered by the wood to ensure an even lift.
My exhaust is a Hayward and Scott stainless system which is larger diameter than standard, but the wooden 70 x 45 mm lifting supports just fits snugly each side of the pipes which are just over 2 inches in diameter. The wooden supports are bolted onto the alloy plate.
The alloy jack plate is marked with it’s centre point and the underside has a diameter ground into it’s surface to ensure the plate does not slip off the jack if I am tilting the axle when refitting it.

Will search through my pile of ‘useful’ off cuts and see if I can’t fashion something along the same lines.

Decided to use some teal off cuts to fashion this pad for under the centre of the diff. Slips under the exhaust bracket to extend the end of the IRS.
Works a treat and matches the teak piece used for the front rail
