SII - Radiator Support Bracket C28743

Hi, This is a bit obscure!!

Putting back the engine/picture/bonnet frames, I actully remembered to refit the radiator support brackets!! But looking at the brackets that I took off, the holes look too big - the holes are about 9/16 & 1/2 (AF) whereas the bolts are 1/2 AF (frame end) and 7/16 AF (stay end).

I can't help thinking something is wrong - either I've mixed up my brackets or there was a bodge in the car's life before me, or Jaguar included loads of play!! Can anyone help one?

I think you need some rubber bushings/ mounts with distance piece

see items 12 and 13 on SNG radiator parts......... then everything fits I hope ?

Hi John,

I'm assuming you mean the flat bars that go either side of the radiator and attaches to the right angle brackets that are bolted to the picture frame. They should have a rubber grommet/bush in them as in the pic below. I've circled the lower radiator mounts as well just incase you meant them. A spare parts book or the parts diagrams on here are really useful for this sort of stuff. You'll see they should have a small metal tube in the bush too. I think it's the same ones used on the wiper motor.

Looking at my 'dismantle' photos, it was fitted with a squashed grommit and no spacer - that would have been a pre-1993 bodge (when i bought the car)!!
