Metallifacture jack parts

I have been trying to locate a source for the parts circled. According to the reproduction parts thread Richard Smith was able to supply some parts but he has informed me that he no longer can. SNG and Moss have also saif the parts are NLA. Does anyone have knowledge of a source?

Get your local machine shop to make them for you.

Of contact your local model engineering club, who will probably do so for beer.

That is plan B. I do not know the correct dimensions however so was going for the easier route. Plan C is to purchase a lathe/mill combo and learn how to machine.

The flat disc is easy, although getting the hole correct would require either a broach or hand filing.

The ratchet inner wheel would need a mill and a dividing head, although there is a technique where you can do this on a lathe essentially using it manually like a scraper although I have never tried it. Again the hole will be an issue.

On mine the toothed wheel is actually made up of four individual 125 thou thick discs, but there's no reason why one single piece as in your photo wouldn't work.

You could probably do the slotted hole with an endmill although you would need to hand file the sharp corner either into the hole or off the shaft.

Is Richard Smith still contactable for spare parts for jacks?

You can try him - but he told me personally he is not doing them now. Those parts can be recovered from other Metalifacture jacks though - so check out ebay etc.
