#1 Rear engine/gearbox support spring ,

Post by Grant » Thu Apr 07, 2022 6:28 pm

Hi All,

After having my engine out over the winter to do the clutch I have noticed a sharp knock under the gear stick tunnel area when I go over a Some bumps not every time but every now and again.
I was wondering if the rear gearbox support spring was not in right , or the exhaust too close to the underneath.
But on investigation on here I read that the rear support spring should NOT have the pin still in it this should be taken off ?
So my questions are am I understanding this correctly the split pin and washer should be taken out ?
And is this it picture below?
Thank you in advance

Grant

Yes you understand well.
It was only for delivery the car.
Mine, like many others, had this washer and pin for many years. Jaguar's instructions to their dealers must not have been very clear at that time !

You can leave the pin in but you need to take the split pin out.
