#1 Quick release steering wheel.

Post by Paul bow » Mon Oct 13, 2025 4:37 pm

Hi guys, it’s not often something arrives on the circuit that is so well made and from good old Blighty !!
yet today I think this deserves a plug..
I have no affiliation what so ever with this company, there is zero in this for me other than to show fellow members this great product.
As the name suggests it’s a quick release to remove the steering wheel. I bought it solely for security purposes, I like to take the car on a tour I don’t want to worry about if some toe rag is lifting the car in the middle of the night. Whilst I sleep.

Anyhow here it is..

Made by Stephen Simmonds, ( info@simmonds.uk.com ) you can find it on You tube under Simmonds quick release s/wheel.
Extremely well made a beautiful piece of engineering.
Took me 15mins to fit, no adjustments to anything on the car.
It has a lock that prevents you accidentally (impossible really) from pulling it off whilst driving, but also when the lock is in situ and removed from the car ie in the boot, it can not go back on to the steering column until removed with the key!!!
Excellent, and rare to be so pleased with a product!
£600.. that may sound a tad expensive, but quality is never going to be cheap, also good luck if your E ever went missing getting a proper payout with your insurance, valuation or not, I guarantee it’ll be a disappointment.
At least with no steering wheel they are going to have to be pretty determined thieves at which point it was always going to be game over !
