#1 rev counter generator stopped

Post by tim wood » Sun Jul 01, 2012 4:36 pm

Hi,
so my rev counter stopped and on testing the generator is not producing current. Strange I think - so I remove it and find that the bronze bush has moved back in the casting and thus the dog isnt engaged. looking further the bush is a finger push fit in the housing and can easily by moved with a finger (when hot )
Anyone come across this before?

not sure how i can refix this bush - any thoughts welcome

(i suppose i can just buy a new one but what a cost!)

regards
Tim

It's common. I drilled through the housing and most of the way into the bush then pressed in a steel pin. I used locking compound on the pin though doubt it will stick to the sintered bush.

Thanks Dave, helpful reply. Just completed this mod and can't see how it can fail to work.

Cost - nothing , just how I like it!

How far is the bush allowed to stick out in the cam direction ?

Flush ? Or 1-2 mm out ?

Mine is fully loose as well...how deep should it sit in the alloy case ?
