#1 Brackets behind the dash

Post by CTDavies » Thu Jan 30, 2014 4:53 pm

I've noticed these brackets behind the dashboard on pictures of other E-Types

On my car, they've all been broken off. What are they for? I would like to replace them but need to know their exact size. Is their size critical, especially the size of the holes. Could someone maybe draw me a full size template, or provide rough dimensions here? (I hope I'm not asking too much). Help is greatly appreciated.

I'd be guessing that they're for the under dash trims.
Mine only has the angle bracket not the second bit with the 2 holes. I have 2 on each side.

Note my use of latest CAD technology.

These are not ( Usually ) present on short wheelbase cars, so I think they are the brackets which carry the underdash tray which is only fitted on 2+2 cars

Thanks for that, Andrew. With your little sketch and the remains on my car, I was able to recreate the dimensions of the 2+2 version. A detailed drawing has been passed on to my coach builder.
