Not sure if this idea is new here or not, but I thought I'd show it anyway, it may be of help to some. To be able to work on the bottom side of my E Type (removing old paint and rust-protection), and also be able to move it around my garage, I made a simple "dolly" that suits both needs. I made two small separate dollies, both made from steel square tubing with some coaster wheels, and with uprights that bolt onto the body. Than I made two "side-arms" of one size smaller square tubing, that can be inserted into each dolly, on either side of the car. Because of the design, the car can than easily be tilted on it's side, manually, by one person. Very easy. And when it's on it's wheels, with the side arms removed, there's nothing in the way for the body guy to do his work. No need for any bolts or other connection to attach the side-arms, they simply slide in and out.
Maybe it's old news and has been done a thousand times, in that case, please ignore my post. But it's very simple and works well for me!
Good luck, Arjen
