Hi Guys,
My latest project ( S2 short wheelbase fhc) arrived minus the complete steering column. S2 columns seem to be quite rare so I've decided to use the adjustable column from a series 1. Looking at the pics on the SNG Barrett site the pivot bracket 38 has four holes whereas the S2 has only two. The mounting bracket 37 with the adjuster slides at the bottom will fit ok. Has anyone made this change before? It looks doable. I have the opportunity to accuir an almost complete S1 column but would welcome any advice from more wise members of the forum before I leap in.
Regards, Pete

Hello Pete, for originality I would be incined to hold out for the correct S2 column, you could get the S1 column to fit however you will have issues with ignition steering lock and indicator switch, your best bet is to visit the Jaguar Spares day at Stoneliegh, I noticed there was a couple of S2 columns for sale when I was there looking for an S1.5 column earlier this year. Hope this helps.
Julian.

Hi julienne,
Many thanks for the reply. I don't suppose you remember what a 'tidy' price the S2 columns you sore were? Something that rare usually attracts big bucks. I am planning a parts bagging trip to stoneleigh in October, looking forward to it.

Hi Pete sorry can't remember, keep an eye out for a complete unit with indicator switch as the mounting brackets are hard to find.
Good luck, Julian.
