Fitting Door Rubbers - help needed

The B post rubbers should have the lip facing backwards :)

Also as a tip... dont fit the sill rubber until you have trimmed the sill and fitted the chrome finisher otherwise its pretty tricky to fit the chrome trim.

tip 2: with the sill rubber - cut it to size put it loosely in place and if the door can still swing shut then you are ready to glue it in. if the door can't shut but it did before you fitted the rubber - then you have to reduce the rubber in size until the door *does* shut. The real tip here is to apply glue to the rubber, push it loosely into place then shut the door (which pushes the rubber further into place) and leave the door shut until you are certain the glue has dried.

The left hand photo is correct, the right hand photo shows the seal upside down and back to front.

The only reason doubt started creeping in was another restoration photo where the channel appears to be forward, with the slightly longer side of the channel to the rear. But it doesn't look right to me:

Early style seal, not as easy to use or durable IMHO seal AND back to front

I also read somewhere on the forum that the sill rubber on the S2 had the longer side uppermost (unlike the S1). Does the fitting below look right?

Looks fine and the longer side is always uppermost on any E.

Thanks both for your guidance. Most of the re-trim kit now makes sense .... although my origami skills still haven't solved how the rear wheel arch foam and vinyl fit! After turning though every angle, I'm sure they're for another car!!
