This is the JEC sender:

Similar shape to yours but only one spade connector. As far as I can see yours is not a JEC sender. The gauge should be marked JEC on the back I seem to remember (I sold mine after fitting a mechanical one).

Hi Oilers,
When changing oil and filter does one need to follow the owners manual and drain the oil from the filter first? (Another connection to undo and re-seal)
Then unscrew the cental bolt and remove canister element.

Well, it is certainly less messy to do it that way, although if you drain the sump first the majority of the oil in the filter will drain down as well. I always get at the filter by removing the air filter drum - you get less oil in your eye that way! because it is easier to manouevre the filter bowl . Whatever way you do it , however, there tends to be some spillage, so have some rags handy before you start

That's one of the best mods I made - dispensing with that almost inaccessible nut on the base of the air cleaner and replacing it with a captive nut plate.
