Help please,this is causing me a headache steering column in the pic is what's fitted to my 68 US series 1.5 restoration project, I'm having difficulty in identifying if this is correct? Only pics I can find have a ignition lock mounted to the top of the column, what doesn't help there's a lot of parts missing I have indicator switch and steering wheel, I think I'm going to struggle tracking down parts peticully the bracket that the indicator switch clamps too.

Hi Steve, I have studied this article and it was very useful, the difference is mine doesn't have the ignition steering lock, on Chris's column there's a three bolt top hat type flange that the indicator assembly clamps to, my column has a round boss at the top with three threaded holes around the outside that I assume a tubular type of bracket for mounting the indicator switch, I'm unable to find any diagrams identifying this part.

Steering column parts are hard to come by. I know that Hutson's have a collection of used parts; you could try them.
Otherwise you might be better off ditching the steering lock idea and fabricating the bracket that is used for the non steering lock cars. If you have a look at Mike Cassidy's LHD to RHD articles in the Knowledge Base you'll see pictures of it. It's a tear drop shaped piece with a rolled edge that is brazed to the column. My September 1968 1.5 had this arrangement so it's not inappropriate for your car.

I'm pretty sure I have a complete Series 1.5 column if that's any help.

These are the various components that make up a Series 1.5 column without the integrated steering lock but with the ignition switch moved to the column. These were only fitted for a short while so hopefully this picture should help as they seem to be relatively rare.
This will fit either RHD or LHD depending on how to the top part is configured.
