#1 S2 2+2 interior mirror

Post by nottsman » Tue Jan 31, 2017 9:13 am

Hi,

I'm having to replace my windscreen due to a large crack and wondered if anyone had any advice as to the best type of glue to use to stick the interior mirror back to the new glass.

This is a picture of the mirror as it came off the old glass. Totally original as far as I can make out for a S2 2+2. The gluing area is slightly wider than a penny in diameter.

Cheers,

Nick

I had good success with some Evo-Stik 320130 2ml Rear View Mirror Adhesive.
Available on Amazon -

I am sure there are other places also

I used the UV-hardening adhesive. Very strong and crystal clear result. It's very fluid and runny, but cleans off easy. Hardens in daylight, in my garage it took about 2 days to harden out. You could get a UV lamp and harden in minutes. I used UHU Glas. I have the same mirror. You have to take the mounting base off the mirror, and fix it in place with tape till glue has hardened.
