#1 Bonnet inner valance filler panel sizes

Post by paulsco » Fri Feb 10, 2017 12:52 pm

Hi,

I am missing my bonnet inner valance filler panels as MM call them; BD22749 and BD22750.

https://monocoque-metalworks.myshopify. ... llers-pair

Does anybody have their bonnet disassembled at the moment who could give me the actual measurements of these?

They are about £25.00 each from the usual's and I could make them up quite easily if I had the measurements.

Thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul,

I can send you mine if you want. My resto isn't at this state.
You'll send them back after getting the mesure.
Send me a PM if you'r interested.

That's very kind of you Mitch, but I would prefer just the measurements if possible.

I would think the flanges are 1/2" ; 5/8" ish (13 to 15mm), top and bottom which is near enough, it is just difficult to measure the actual size needed for the face as there is little room between the inner valance and the top of the bonnet to enable me to measure . It looks tapered; is it?

Just the size of the main face is all I really need for me to work to.

Thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul,

If you can wait till tomorrow evening, I'll give you the measurements.
My car is not at home.
Don't forget the foam on the both small side retaining with 2 rivets on each. I'll send a photo.
I'll try to give you the angles of the fixations also.
That being say, Monocoque metalworks make a VERY good job !
The parts they sell are just identical as the original, no need to adapt.

Mitch this is fantastic!

You went to a lot of effort here and I am very grateful.

Hope I can return the favor one day.

Many thanks,
