I must be very dumb as can't see how to search for "handbrake AND switch" at the same time on the search engine, yet I am sure this has been treated here a million times already ...............

The switch and its bracket are not my favourite parts on the car and I'd like to fit something else - can anyone guide me to pictures and links to a suitable switch, and inspiration of how and where to mount it ?

Many thanks.

PS anyone found a suitable Clevis Pin with an arm or leg that will clip over behind the cable, and thus obviate the need for a split-pin on the back-side of the handbrake-cable anchorage in the cabin ? Or do I have to make one ?! It would be so much easier when getting the centre console out and needing to get the handbrake lever more vertical for extraction purposes.

You could use any switch that fits in the space. You'd just need to make up a bracket to fit.
I sort of did this the other way around; I had the switch buy not the bracket so I had to make one.
