#1 Horn wiring problem

Have been having a tidy up of dash wiring etc (as have a rev counter problem) and now have a problem with the horn. It was all working fine before hand but now it only works when the ignition is switched off but does NOT work with the ignition switched on?
Have checked the circuit etc and it all seems fine until the ignition is switched on and then no circuit ( only on the horns).
Will teach me to perhaps leave things alone if they are working well! I am sure it is something very straightforward ( or I hope so!).
Any ideas please???

Hi there, my horn became erratic.
It was the slip ring contact.
Remove the steering column bolt / bracket.
This drops the column down and you can get at the brass contacts.

I might be wrong Tony, but I think Jagman's car is a Series 2 so the horn will be on the stalk switch.
It could be a bad earth on the actual stalk, a problem in the block of stalk bullet connectors or the horn relay though this would point towards getting some wires the wrong way round.

Hmm, Simon, maybe start at the relay then with a tester/meter to help narrow the prob down.
