Heuer's topic of upgrading the footwell vents (viewtopic.php?f=9&t=11376) has been the catalyst to me asking about the heater and whether mine is typical or needs adjusting.
Normally it is left with the LH control (on-off) fully forward (on) and the RH control (hot-cold) fully out (cold). This is an S2 with levers in/out not up/down like the S1, but the heater is the same after all. And being a FHC keeps warm enough anyway.
Even pushing the RH lever in one notch seems to produce a lot of warmth, certainly wouldn't like it at full hot. The LH lever seems to give all or nothing as far as air flow is concerned.
Is this normal?
Thanks for any thoughts or advice
Geoff

#2 Re: Heater adjustment
That's my experience too. It slightly offends my sense of OCD that the most frequently required setting (i.e. a flow of cooling air) obliges one to to drive along with one lever in and one lever out
Anything other than fully out on the heater lever does seem to invite progressively warmer air into the cabin. Fortunately one has a Webasto so getting rid of excess cabin heat is rarely a problem
Contrary to my expectation, the little twiddly silver knobs are surprisingly effective at redirecting the flow to the screen.
