Wiper parking LHD/RHD

I have just been reading Mike Cassidy's splendid treatise on converting a LHD car to RHD. He expresses surprise that Lucas went to the trouble of providing two positions for the parking cam (Series II) 180 degreeas apart on the drive gear, when all you have to do is rotate the operating lever 180 deg on the output shaft.
The answer is simple - most cars using this type of wiper motor had a rack-and-pinion linkage, rather than the rod linkage of the E-Type. The only other way to reverse the park position with a rack-and-pinion is to turn the wheel-boxes upside down, which in most cases is not feasible. Hence the two-position cam. More nerdy stuff I'm afraid!

and a second for Mike's excellent guide but another piece of nerdiness missed out is that you should change the two outer wheel-boxes over as they are handed. More precisely, they have their ball joints at different pivot points but are easy to swap over.
