#1 3.8 Bellow filter

Post by Echezeaux » Thu Jul 30, 2009 12:15 pm

The last time I used the E, I noticed that the brake pedal wasn't coming back too quickly, thus holding the brake pads in contact for a bit longer.
On the Jag manual, it shows a filter at the back of the bellow, after dismantling the reason of the fault was obvious, dirt and dust just clogged the filter big time, a good clean with solvent and back on the car brought everything to normal.
Just need to order the ' foam sleeve' from SNG.

Thanks for the picture of the filter; mine was missing, anything the previous owner didn't understand he threw away
Without it the brake suction is quite audible and I'm concerned that the servo may get gummed up in time. Anyone have a spare one or know where they may be available?

Pipe lagging foam works well for the foam sleeve - I think that's what some of the usuals supply.
