#1 Oil Return Pipe

Hi Gents (and Ladies),
Re My 4.2 Series 1E-Type, I have bought a length of pipe from SNG B to connect the oil filter unit to the return pipe on the sump. This pipe is seriously reinforced and I have tried all my best efforts to connect the rubber pipe over the two metal fittings - one on the oil filter unit and the other on the sump. Try as I may, I cannot get the pipe over the fittings. I have tried heating the pipe to soften the rubber, applied WD40, applied oil, you name it and still I cannot get the pipe over the flanges of the two fittings. Help guys and gals ...... what can I do? My hands and wrists are wrecked and I am no further on! Yours aye. George
