#1 1969 starter drive

Hi all,
I have a 69 2+2 and I have the old stater I took out some time ago because Bendix roller clutch was playing up. I want to rebuild it for a spare. Does any one know what to do about roller clutch? I have heard people weld them up but not keen on that. Any advise?
