Morning all, well all hopes of a summers morning drive in the country have been scuppered by a non starting series 3!!!
Haven't had the car long, in fact this would have been only the 3rd cold start I had carried out.
Went like this...Full choke, turned over for 10 seconds and started lovely, tick over seems high though at 2000 revs so I immediately closed the choke and tried to keep engine running with throttle control.... engine stalled!!
Tried to restart using no choke and lots of throttle, garage now stinks of petrol and nothing I do will get it to start, full choke no throttle, no choke full throttle, full choke full throttle and no choke no throttle, it's spinning over nicely but will not fire at all..... any advise???
Flooded engine?
#2 Re: Flooded engine?
You'll get much better advice I'm sure, but as it did start to begin with, I'd take all the plugs out, clean them, and start again. Maybe you oiled them up with the various procedures you tried?

It wasn't flooded chaps.... a wire had come off the recently fitted fuel pump, all up and running again!
