Hi All

Has anyone converted the US sidelights/indicators (1bulb) front to U.K. Separate side light bulb and indicator bulbs?
I ve just got back from the Beaulieu auto jumble and managed to get some lens'
So I've not had chance to peel the back off and look at the wires but I can't under stand how it can go from being permanently on as a side light to flashing as the indicator?
the wiring diagrams seems to show separate wires so I guess they are uk wiring diagrams

Just to say I did manage to sort this last night .
It was obviously a 2 element bulb like a brake light so much ealsier than I had imagined

You think that's bad? Take a look at the US rear lights - they use (or did until recently) the same lamp for brake lights and turn signals - like some British cars did in the fifties. This requires a very complicated switching relay. Much easier to use a separate wire & twin-filament bulb I would have thought. That is apart from the fact that you can't recognise a flashing brake light as a turn signal very easily. Another development that hasn't yet crossed the Atlantic is cut-off dipped beams - the very first thing I noticed when I first went to America was that all the cars looked as though they had their high beams on. I hate driving at night over there.
