My 3.8 head has been into the machine shop and has had everything done to make it like new, however I now have the choice to fit any of the three cam types eg early, second grooved type or later XJ6.
Which one do I to go for ?

Lyons, there has been a lot of discussion about cams. Peter is correct. What is said about the later cams is they give a slighter quieter running engine. And for on the road, normal use, would you see any difference or benefit?
