#1 Transmission oil leak

Post by antileon » Sun Nov 26, 2017 12:27 pm

I am a new member and new to E type,. I just purchased a 74 V12 Roadster. with 38 k.on the meter.
Only had opportunity to drive a few milers before it was placed in the garage waiting for spring.
I is leaking quite much from the transmission,. while checking the dipstick it appears to have generous amounts of oil,. can it be the result of over filling or where should I look for the leak.
I have very little mechanicanl skille, but try to learn.
Thanks from cold Denmark

Is this an automatic transmission car ? If so , to check the fluid level you need to follow the prescribed procedure . I do not have instructions for the V12 , but usually the level has to be checked with the fluid at normal running temperature ( i.e. hot ) and the car idling with the selector in the P (Park) position
