I have had the carbs rebuilt and inlet manifold cleaned/polished up, etc. I am trying to install new adaptors into the inlet manifold (brake servo, heater outlet and temp sender unit) but finding them very tight i.e. only going in a thread or two by hand. Is this normal or should they go in fully by hand ?

I have recently replaced the brake vac nipple on the inlet m'fold. Needed a deep socket to get a good fit, once started, it came out easily.
The new nipple only managed a few turns by finger then needed a socket (a deep throat wheel nut) the rest of the way. it is a parallel thread.

Many thanks for the reply, I am worried about cross threading.
