#1 Door cards probably too long ?

Hi guys,
My both door cards (selfmade) seem to be too long. They interfere with the capping that runs vertically on the B pillar front edge.
I can now either remoove the capping (nope, the weld seam will be visible then), or cut the door card shorter.
So here‘s the question- is the door card so short that the capping sits just behind it when the door is closed, or is something too thick in my case ?
The capping is original, I remooved, cleaned, and blackened the material.
