#1 RnR crank or replacing crank

Post by mister mitch » Wed May 02, 2018 7:57 pm

Is there way to clear the lower timing chain so I can remove the crank???

I have already removed the timing cover without pulling the head plus the damper and its cone…

If I could just take the lower timing chain off its sprocket on the crank…thereby clearing the crank…

Thanks Mitch

John (my machinist) took the crank out of my engine for machining 2 weeks ago without removing the timing case.

This was to fit modern lip seals. The rest of the motor was pretty new.

We split the chain and added a removable link when we put it back together.

Runs fine now.
