Hi

What is the collective wisdom regarding the material for the fuel pump/pickup gasket on top of the fuel tank.
C.22226

SNG have this as a cork gasket. Is this correct or is it better to use a rubber one?

I've also got a limited choice of gasket sealant in the area. Basically PETEC. Choice of 3. Which one and why?

Surface seal hardening - A Hardening seal for sealing surface and flange connections. (no setting of the seal)
Choice of green or orange.

UniPlast Seal

The other problem is one of the screws has been overtightened and doesn't bite fully now. I'm thinking probably the best solution will be some "liquid metal" or similar and then re-cut the thread. Or just re-cut to the next metric size up - although I am loathe to use a metric screw on it - but no UNF tap available here at short notice - and my set doesn't have one for 3/16"

The cork gaskets work. No sealant required. Don't lose the screws for the gauge; they are a funny thread.
