#1 Blistering paint on bonnet

Dear all,

I am a little desparate here. I just found that next to the left "louvre" on the bonnet paint starts to blister a bit (small tiny "brake" lines and one small "torn" point that seems to come up (sorry do not know how to describe it better).

My question is as follows:

Can i try and arrange this (by an expert probably) locally or do I need a total respray, this time probably with better preparatory "groundwork" ?

if I need to go for a total repsray, can I only do the bonnet or will this show too much and will I need to do a total car respray ?

It is getting late and therefore sorry for my "slur".

Many thx for any comments/advice/suggestions etc.

cheers

As a short term fix you could repair it yourself. These people offer a paint matching service and scratch repair kits:

I bought some Opalescent Silver Blue from them and it was a perfect match.

You will need to repaint the whole bonnet to do it properly but maybe worth waiting until you have gathered sufficient paint chips (typically every 7 years!). Give the repair kit a try - nothing to lose.

Eric,

I have had sections of cars reprayed and most paintshop garages garuntee a 100% colour match if they mix there own paints...

Patches can be blended in no problem.

Hope that helps
