Hi All,
I have inadvertently bought a V12 bottle bracket set from SNG Barratt, part SBS9072 instead of one for the Series One 4.2 part SBS9071.
Now I could send it back, but I note that the 4.2 bottle set is ?20.00 dearer and looking at the one I have, it doesn't look any different from the pictures I have seen of the originals.
Does anybody know if there is a difference?
I am talking about the brake and clutch bracket on the driver?s side (RHD) bulk head).
The servo bottle bracket is completely different, but I think I can get around that.
Thank You,
Paul

I can't see any difference on my two. They are the same size bottles, and the frame looks identical......

Thanks for your input Mark.
I can't see any difference ether, but I have decided to send them back and get the 'right' ones; better to do it now than regret it later.
Thanks again,
Paul

Why don't you phone them up and ask them to get one of each from stock and compare them for you. You never know, the price difference may be because one is stainless and the other plated. Might save the postage.

Well I received my replacement brackets from SNG and as far as I can see, they are exactly the same as the V12 ones, well at least the bulkhead bracket is and the servo bottle bracket is just a single piece of steel that wraps around the bottle; very simple to make and frankly the V12 one is more complicated.
In all, the 4.2 bracket set is ?13.00 plus vat dearer, not ?20.00, but why it?s more expensive; who knows.
One of the reasons I chose to return it was because in all the pictures I have seen, the recesses in the sides that locate the bottles all appear to be off centre, i.e. they support the bottles slightly lower (higher depending which way up they are mounted) than the centre of the bracket, so I had assumed that the 4.2 ones would be slightly different in this area. Well they aren?t, the recess is in the middle.
