#1 E type series 2 wiper motor running wrong way

I dont know how this can happen but now that Im rebuilding my car the wipers turn the wrong way.
I have connected correctly as the diagram.
The wiper motor turns anticlockwise when looking at the spindle end but I belive it should run the other way.
Park slow and fast speed are working.
Could it be so simple that i have reversed that lobe that connects to the wiper spindle?
Obviously this wont fix the rotation direction but at least it will park correctly.

Turned it the other way and at least it park at the correct place.
This means that the easy way to convert series 2 from rhd to lhd or other way around is just to turn the lobe 180 degrees

:yeahthat:

However, for a fully correct conversion from LHD to RHD you also have to swap the outer wheelboxes over as well.

Are they different as well?
I bought a new rack so maybe its setup for rhd?

On a three wiper blade setup the blade on the passenger side goes through a greater arc to cover more of the screen that otherwise would be missed. To achieve this, the length of crank (arm) of the passenger wheel box is slightly shorter than the other two.

You should also note that if correctly wired and set up , the motor runs backwards to achieve the parked position. It may be that this lies at the heart of your problem

I cannot find any other way to connect the wiper motor so maybe I have a rhd motor where the internals are reversed?

Will double check if it runs backwards when park is engaged and also the wheelboxes and links

On a S2 I don't believe this is correct. Yes, the output of the motor is shorted to use regenerative braking to sharpen up the stop for parking but the motor is never run backwards.

The S2 motor doesn't have any internals to reverse in the way S1 motors and radiator fan motors do as its magnetic field is provided by a permanent magnet. Yes, it would run backwards if you connected the brushes the other way round but those wires come out externally so it would be obvious they had been changed and whilst low speed might work, I doubt high speed would work connected the wrong way due to the way it's implemented using an offset brush.

If the three wires from the brush plate emerge and connect to the white parking motor switch on the top of the wiper motor as normal it's a strong bet you've got a standard motor.

Thank you.
Yes the brushes are connected. I took the motor apart and cleaned it.
So probably just had the lobes turned 180 degress.
Will double check with regards to the wheelboxes since I have a new rack and if everythins is as it should for a lhd I can conclude that everything is wired correctly and working as it should
