Hi all

The Assembly diagrams from SNGB show mudguard brackets (marked as 13 and 18) that are not on my car.

Before I re-fit my mudguards should I be using these on a 1970 FHC? Where do they attach to the frames? Any helpful pictures would be very much appreciated.

thanks
Ash

These are two L shaped pieces which are riveted onto the splash shields.

They have a 3/8" or so hole in the other end into which is mounted a 5/16" captive nut in a sort of clip arrangement.

The nut sits up under a hole in the triangular gusset at the top of the engine frame and a bolt is passed down from above to secure the splash shield to stop it from vibrating.

Ah, there's a captive nut? I wondered why the hole is so big.
New brackets (from SNBG anyway) don't have captive nuts, and the nuts don't seem to be a listed part.
I just used a nut and bolt.
