I have a white Fibreglass hardtop that came with my S1.5 car.

It's clearly not original and has basic fittings. The seals around the rear screen etc imply it's not a home made job, but nothing in the UK looks like it.

The car originally came from the US and the hardtop may have come with it.

Does anyone have any ideas where this may have originated?

Will be looking to sell it.

I have one for my S2, and it is not too bad at all, you just need to adjust the fixing clamps for the right tension.

SC Parts used to sell a cheap hardtop in white although I don't think it is still available. Maybe worth giving them a call?

This certainly looks like the item.

It's clearly a 'budget' version of a hardtop, and certainly doesn't attach well enough to my car for me to want to use it.

Someone with suitable fibreglass / DIY fabrication skills may be able to make different brackets to make it fit better.

I will be listing it on the forum at a realistic price!

I do find the quote on the SC Parts website:

'This is an exact replica of the original factory hardtop...'

slightly amusing... as it's clearly no where near the quality of an original hardtop.

From the outside, it looks indeed extremely similar to the original, just missing the 2 chrome decors on the sides. But the rest is quite different.
I have also an original one and have put both next to each other for comparison.
Costwise, at a fraction of the original's price, it is quite interesting for someone looking for the winter or longdrives comfort solution.

It looks like a Honeybourne Mouldings item. They make several parts for jaguars in fibreglass, including bonnets, bootlids and doors. They also make parts for a multitude of 60’s British cars. They are located north of Oxford.

Their 6 cyl e type hardtop wasn’t quite the right shape in the rear screen area and I sold them an old original hardtop about 18 months ago to make a mould from, I also suggested they fit some steel plates into the header rail to allow for the correct chrome catches.

It’s identical to the one used on my S2 and bought from Paul Ridges who now runs the Jag side of Jaguar Classic, I believe.

Think it was SC Parts but they might sell Honeybourne stuff. Looks good in silver on any colour. So much so, the car got nicked.
